Warehouse Supervisor

Supervises employees in a manufacturing environment in various distribution classifications, including forklift drivers, parts pullers, truck drivers, etc. This potential six figure role plans and assigns work, enforces and administers policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Manages time efficiency, employee relations, quality, productivity and performance measurements in the department reviewing opportunity for cost improvements. Typical production staff size varies (10 – 70).

Warehouse Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
• Organizes and/or conducts training for production staff to achieve best performance objectives. Issues oral and written instructions.
• Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all phases of production. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
• Manages departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to manager.
• Manages department priorities and provides leadership for on time delivery production.
• Implements and leads change to assist in improving a system of production control and standard operating procedures.
• Performs work related accident investigations and first aid when needed.
• Maintains proper inventory levels and participates with inventory control audits.
• Oversees general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the departmental area.
• Maintains time-keeping system for hours worked and absenteeism tracking.
• Counsels employees with corrective action situations, participates in grievance issues.

Warehouse Supervisor Requirements:

• HS diploma required. College education preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others promoting a diverse manufacturing environment.
• Ability to plan and prepare production cycles for on-time, on-demand customer requirements.
• 5 years supervision experience in fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Systems, quality control and continuous improvement goal oriented.
• Must be able to multi-task projects and priorities; interpret contractual agreements as well as company policies and procedures.
• Works well in a team setting and motivates others.
• Confident working with computers under minimal training or direction.
