Description

Position Overview: As the Refrigerated Warehouse & Distribution Manager, you will be a pivotal force behind our operations, ensuring seamless management of our large refrigerated/frozen warehouse facility. You will also be responsible for overseeing a dedicated fleet of delivery trucks and outside carriers, guaranteeing timely deliveries of our premium products to customers across various locations. Please note, our Distribution departments operate on a 3-shilft-24 hr/day basis. Candidates for this Manager position must flexible and prepared to work whichever shift necessary to meet operational and logistical goals.

Responsibilities

• Warehouse Management: Oversee all aspects of the refrigerated warehouse, including inventory management, storage, order picking, and shipping of meat and poultry products. Also will direct receiving of all inbound raw materials and supplies.
• Fleet Oversight: Lead and optimize our delivery fleet to ensure on-time deliveries, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety regulations. Supervise scheduling, routing and dispatch.
• Order Fulfillment: Collaborate closely with our sales and customer service teams to prioritize orders and guarantee smooth fulfillment processes.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of product quality and food safety in compliance with industry regulations with the support of our QA Department.
• Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative strategies to enhance warehouse and distribution efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to our warehouse staff, drivers, and support personnel to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Client Relationship: Cultivate strong relationships with our valued retail food and foodservice customers to understand their unique needs and deliver exceptional service.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience (5+ years) in managing a large refrigerated/frozen warehouse and expertise in distribution and logistics.
• Track record of successfully managing a fleet of delivery trucks and coordinating sometimes complex delivery schedules.
• In-depth understanding of order picking and fulfillment processes, especially within the meat/food industry.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and proficiency in relevant software applications.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in handling perishable goods.
• Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to process optimization.
