Job Description

Overview:

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic accounting professional looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking a Staff Accountant who is passionate about supporting financial operations and driving growth. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting, the Chief Financial Officer, and various operations personnel. You'll manage day-to-day, monthly, and annual accounting functions while contributing to special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations: Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks, including reconciling bank and credit card accounts, coordinating and completing annual audits, and reviewing financial reports.

Ledger Management: Lead the development and upkeep of accounting ledgers and procedures to ensure accurate financial tracking.

Manager Support: Build and maintain supportive relationships with business unit managers, providing guidance and education on financial matters to those without a financial background.

Financial Analysis: Analyze and report on financial status, including income statement variances, budget preparation, and analysis.

Director Support: Act on behalf of the Director of Accounting and Finance in their absence, addressing any urgent issues or concerns.

Inventory Management: Oversee the management and assignment of computer inventory.

Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of organizational and client financial information in line with organizational policies and HIPAA Privacy Rule Regulations.

Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model for staff, families, and children, upholding high standards of reliability, accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.

Team Morale: Contribute to team spirit and overall morale, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Policy Adherence: Follow all organizational policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Experience: At least five years of experience in accounting or finance.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and email.

Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational habits.

Team Player: A positive, energetic professional with the ability to work well in a team environment.

Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Problem-Solving: Capable of analyzing and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively in various situations and to diverse audiences.

Discretion: Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with a variety of people, both internally and externally.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This role is based in a professional office environment and utilizes standard office and audiovisual equipment.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to talk and hear.
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, and reach with arms.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Travel:

Travel is generally not required but may be occasional for remote sites, training events, or conferences.

Condition of Employment:

Successful completion of initial and updated criminal history, background, and driving history checks.
Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as provided when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
