About the Role:
Are you a strategic and detail-oriented accounting professional? We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team remotely! This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our financial operations while working from anywhere in the U.S.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key player in our accounting and financial reporting activities. You'll handle a variety of responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations, the month-end close process, and audit preparation. Your expertise will help ensure our financial processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Close Process: Participate in the monthly accounting close process, including preparing journal entries and financial reports.
- Reconciliations: Maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules for audits and management review.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze sales reports, marketing, and administrative spending to ensure accuracy and proper accounting.
- Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset accounting process.
- Reporting: Design and maintain financial reports, as well as other ad hoc reports as requested.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to streamline processes and procedures within the organization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments, including FP&A, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Marketing, and Sales, to support business processes.
- Internal Controls: Continuously update and document internal controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial statement auditing with increasing levels of responsibility.
- 7-9 years of experience managing annual budgets, projects, and administrative tasks, particularly for C-level leadership, with a solid understanding of accounting terminology and methodology.
- 4+ years of experience in A/P, A/R, Collections, or Billing, with proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and preparing financial graphs, charts, and reports.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Excellent proficiency with ERP/GL systems and reporting software.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data effectively.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with a structured, disciplined approach to work.
