Description: About the Role The Senior Lead, Test-Abrams is responsible for overseeing multiple Developmental and Operational Test Programs and Projects at the USG Test Sites. Fully autonomous with decision making responsibilities. Direct contact with USG Senior Officers, Test Directors, and PM Representatives. Also a key member of the Abrams Program Integrated Product Teams (IPT). Holds a Leadership role with subordinates on multiple Test Programs and locations, responsible for setting test schedules and directing test activities. Is a master of GDLS Engineering Principles including software, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fire control, and software. Field level management of design, development, and manufacturing of our Abrams Tracked Product Lines. This position is the Senior Level for Field Test, comprising of 100% in office/field.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role The Senior Lead Test Booker works directly with the customer, Reliability and Engineering to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret test for our Tracked Vehicles Line of Business Programs products, systems, components, engineering change orders, and modifications. Identifies functional problems and recommends solutions. Analyzes test cases and provides continuous feedback to influence design and development of our products. Must be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Systems Engineering, Field Test, and integration concepts, practices, and procedures.
Additionally SME with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire control systems. Relies on extensive experience and judgment relating to performance of Tracked Military Vehicles to plan and support aggressive test schedules. The Senior Lead performs a variety of tasks to include providing overarching supervision or direct support for extensive diagnostic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems to include software functionality. Will lead and direct the work of soldiers, testers, engineers & mechanics. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The Senior Lead Test is in direct contact with the customer and is an integral member of the Program Integrated Product Team (IPT) and is expected to influence decisions associated with design, development, and testing of our products. Our Senior Lead Test is the face of the company and will be relied upon to drive/negotiate our Customer decisions and sway future business.
Qualifications Sought Must have excellent Customer Service skills.
- Fifteen plus years of Field/Test experience preferred over a Bachelors degree
- Must have 15 plus years of experience with GDLS tracked/wheeled product lines operating/maintaining military tracked vehicles. A vehicle maintenance background is preferred.
- Must have 15 plus years of USG Developmental/Operational test experience and/or a combination of military experience and USG Test experience.
- Will be in direct contact with our Customer daily with excellent customer service skills.
- Must be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all aspects of GDLS Engineering principles.
- Exceptional with making decisions on-the-fly and be able to negotiate as a representative of the company.
- Work directly with GDLS Program Office, Engineering, and Reliability throughout the design, development, test, and fielding of our product lines.
- Ability to lead a team of subordinates on multiple programs/projects.
- Must be able to lead/guide the activities of others.
- Provide subject matter expertise support and training to fielding team and USG testers as required.
- Perform Field Diagnostics of faults and initiate Root Cause Corrective Analysis/Failure Analysis.
- Must be able to operate with minimal supervision.
- Must possess the ability to influence and negotiate issues with USG customers to generate new business.
- Must be able to troubleshoot systemic performance issues for automotive and weapons systems and recommend viable solutions for the customer.
- Must be a mentor to subordinates.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Travel will be required approximately 20-30% of the time.
