Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Registered Nurse to join our team and contribute to the well-being and health of our students. As a School Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing medical care, promoting health education, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for our school community.
Responsibilities:
· Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, treatment, and medication administration according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
· Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizures, ensuring their safety and well-being during school hours.
· Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, or illnesses that occur on school premises, administering first aid and coordinating with emergency services as necessary.
· Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all students, documenting assessments, treatments, medications, and communications with parents/guardians and healthcare providers.
· Develop and implement health education programs and initiatives to promote healthy lifestyle choices, injury prevention, and disease management among students.
· Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify health concerns and develop individualized healthcare plans for students with special needs or medical conditions.
· Conduct screenings, immunization reviews, and health assessments to identify health risks and ensure compliance with state and local health regulations.
· Provide guidance and support to students, families, and staff on health-related issues, including nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and substance abuse prevention.
· Collaborate with school staff, counselors, and external healthcare providers to address the health needs of students and promote a coordinated approach to healthcare delivery.
· Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding students' health status, medical treatments, and healthcare plans, ensuring transparency and maintaining confidentiality.
· Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and crisis intervention teams to address students' academic and health-related needs.
· Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and regulations in school nursing and healthcare, participating in professional development activities and continuing education opportunities.

Requirements:
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
· Associate’s Degree in Nursing required - Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred.
· Certification in School Nursing (CSN) preferred.
· CPR certification for healthcare providers.
· Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric or school nursing.
· Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
· Commitment to promoting a culture of health, safety, and inclusivity within the school community.
