Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Granite Falls, WA

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a School Nurse in Granite Falls, WA. The School Nurse will be responsible for promoting student health and wellness, providing medical care
as needed, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff members as needed.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses or special health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
• Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including illness prevention, nutrition, and hygiene.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address health concerns and promote a healthy school environment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and serve as a resource for school health policies and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines related to school health services.

Schedule and Timeline: 

• Sep. 2024 - June 2025.
• Potential opportunity for Extended School Year in July or upcoming school year.
• Hours: vary by school
• Follows school calendar with included breaks. No weekends, holidays, and school breaks off. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution
• Current WA or Multistate Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing is desirable.
• Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of pediatric health conditions, medications, and treatments.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
• Commitment to promoting a healthy and inclusive school community.

Pay: Pay starting at $47 an hour with potential increases based upon experience.
