THE POSITION

Washington County's Finance Department is excited to welcome a new Procurement Analyst II to join their team!

The Opportunity

To excel in this position you will need to possess a broad base of business skills and knowledge.

This position is part of a six-person team working under the direction of the Procurement Manager. We are looking for a candidate who cares about public service, improving processes and operations, and reaching out to our community to form relationships and provide education. In this role you will perform formal and informal solicitations, attend and create outreach activities, act as a resource and back up for the County workforce compliance software B2GNow and LCPTracker, act as contract administrator for county-wide contracts, and assist with special projects and project management as needed.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Ideally the candidate will have public procurement experience, performing high level procurements, and is someone who wants to be of service to others, make an impact in the community, and do work that holds meaning beyond the bottom line. Someone who has knowledge of different areas of work and work with a broad array of clients. Wants a chance to develop and use a variety of skills - especially in the areas of technology and project management; as well as work with a variety of people: program managers, attorneys, engineers, elected officials, accountants, business owners and non-profit staff. Someone who is self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to take on new tasks, conduct research, and is flexible. They must have excellent customer services skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field AND two (2) years of full-time professional experience purchasing commodities, acquiring contracted services, or writing service or construction contracts. (One (1) year of experience in public procurement may substitute for two (2) years of experience); OR
  • Four (4) years of full-time professional experience purchasing commodities, acquiring contracted services, or writing service or construction contracts in public procurement.


Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities, and Specialty Requirements

  • Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB), Certified Procurement Professional (CPP), or equivalent

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

  • Panel Interview(s): Our goal is to schedule panel interviews with candidates who successfully pass the SME Review as soon as possible.
  • Conditional Offer of Appointment: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the successful candidate(s) and extend an offer of appointment.
  • Post-Offer Check: The successful candidate will undergo a background check including a reference check.
  • Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
