Position Title: Pharmacy Assistant

Position Summary: The Pharmacy Assistance will work closely with Pharmacy Technician to prepare prescriptions and Advance Prostate Cancer Coordinator to help patients with prostate cancer. May also be responsible for helping patients update their contact or insurance information on file.

· Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
· Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
· May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
· Serve as patient coordinator for prostate cancer patients.
· Assist with the implementation of USL advanced prostate cancer protocols.
· Identify benefits and coordinate resources based upon patient's needs, insurance coverage and community programs.
· Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
· Maintain professional relationships with pharmaceutical representatives, and other outside resources.
· Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· A High School diploma or equivalent
· Intermediate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications including ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.
· Patient navigation experience desired
