POSITION: Office Assistant II
Police Department – Records Division
Full-time, 40 hours per week
STARTING RATE: $27.56/hour
POSITION RANGE: $27.56-$31.66/hour
POSITION OVERVIEW & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Office Assistant II performs general clerical work of considerable complexity and variety to support the needs of the Police Department.
Must possess the ability to type and operate office equipment. Successful candidate must have strong customer service skills, be well organized, and able to effectively prioritize. Must be accurate & attentive to detail, while meeting deadlines on a regular basis. Ability to create spreadsheets and manage a database. Will be required to apply reasoning ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions and will be required to resolve problems with several variables in a dynamic setting.
This position will be expected to train and successfully become proficient in law enforcement computer programs and related security requirements. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with court case depositions and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Due to the sensitive nature of this position a thorough background check will be required.
The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a high school education and four (4) years’ experience in general office work.
