LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics & Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial role int he effeciency and smoothness of supply chain operations in the Laredo, TX warehouse.  This role will involve coordinating various logistical aspects including procurement, storage, transportation of materials, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills and will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and coordiate all logistical processes for supply chain operations in the Laredo, TX warehouse. 
  • Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring adequate supply of materials for delivery. 
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure prompt and proper movment of shipments. 
  • Maintain accurate records of supply chain ativities, inventory levels, and logistics information. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to facilitate efficient logistical and transportation processes. 
  • Plan and track the shipments of products according to customer requirements.
  • Monitor logistics to ensure timely delivery.
  • Plan and manage the flow of materials and information.
  • Respond to any issues or complaints related to the supply chain process.
  • Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
  • Implement measures to improve quality, cost, and effieciency of the supply chain and logistical processes.
  • Monitor and forcast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and update spreadsheets, track data, and generate reports. 
  • Use Microsoft Outlook for email communication and scheduling. 
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate using Microsoft Teams. 
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain, transportation and logistical laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or in related field of Supply Chain Management, or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience .
  • Bilingual in speaking, reading, and writing in both English & Spanish languages to interact with Mexico leadership team and other departments is required .
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ADVANCED EXCEL experience, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Previous experience in a logistics, transportation, or warehouse environment.  
  • Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Knowledgeable in supply chain, transportation, and of logistics principles. 
  • Ability to work both independently. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues. 
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and requirements related to supply chain, logistics, and transportation processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :

  • Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish language).   Must speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish languages proficiently to work in conjunction with employees, Mexico leadership, and departmental partners. Participate in meetings with leadership and between departments.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change and react to changing priorities.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressur e.
  • Results-oriented, ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Strong analytical, and quick problem-solving skills are required to resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship building, and communication skills.  Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to interact with all levels of personnel with demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above. Examples include: operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking and concentrating effectively, frequently communicating with people, frequently moving around the facility areas, may require occasional physical effort of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pds.,
  • Ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, ability to have regular, reliable attendance on-site.
  • Utilizing standard office equipment including laptop computer, mouse, keyboard, copier, calculator, etc.
  • Combination of office and warehouse environment setting.
  • Work environment in the warehouse may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions, safety training, and required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe safety shoes, and gloves).
  • Work may involve moving around the warehouse and some exposure to environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures, hot, cold, dirt, dust, grease, and/or loud noises in or around the facility’s premises.
