Description Are you a skilled Legal Secretary/Junior Paralegal seeking a short-term opportunity to showcase your organizational and legal expertise? Our client, a boutique employment and business litigation firm in Hayward, CA, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to assist in successfully winding down business operations and closing out their final cases. This temporary assignment offers a unique chance to contribute to the resolution of outstanding matters while gaining valuable experience in litigation and administrative processes. As a key team member during the firm's transition, you will work closely with the legal team, tackling a variety of substantive and procedural tasks. Key Responsibilities + Support attorneys in reviewing and organizing discovery documents, preparing responses, and managing deadlines. + File legal documents electronically in compliance with court requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Assist in drafting motions and legal correspondence. + Provide professional and courteous communication with clients regarding case updates and other administrative matters. + Finalize case files to meet applicable requirements for completion and maintain an orderly process throughout the wind-down phase. Requirements Our ideal candidate will be an adaptable legal professional with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You should possess: + 2+ years working as a legal secretary or junior paralegal, preferably with litigation experience. + Proficiency in legal e-filing systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management software. + Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (2-3 days on-site each week in Hayward). + Strong ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
