Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Roanoke, Virginia is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Responsible for direction, development and implementation of all aspects of maintaining the golf course and the other facilities of the corporation. Coordinate the maintenance operation plans and actions with the management of the golf course operation to maximize the benefits and the results of both operations and the overall operation of the corporation. The position will report directly to the Greens Committee. He will work closely with our PGA General Manager to ensure the coordinated, efficient and effective operation
Requirements:
Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture.
A working knowledge of the construction, establishment and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers.
A degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant or soil science.
High degree of administrative and executive ability including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency.
Certified and/or licensed for pesticide usage.
Knowledge of irrigation including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells and automatic controls and drainage.
Ability to evaluate the course from a player’s perspective.
Compensation:
$75,000 – $110,000 per year.
