Quatrro Business Support Services is seeking a Director of Accounting for their not-for-profit team in Chicago, IL. As the Director of Accounting, you will oversee the end-to-end accounting processes for multiple nonprofit clients. Serving as the main point of contact and internal liaison for our clients, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping a compelling vision for developing and implementing an effective client strategy that will empower them to reach their financial goals and objectives successfully. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days/week on-site with our clients.

Responsibilities: 

• Deliver accurate and timely financial statements, coaching, and counseling to stakeholders and operations managers to help improve margins and impact their bottom line  
• Lead budget processes and incorporate periodic analytics
• Work closely with clients to solve issues related to complicated financial statement situations
• Monitor finances to aid clients functioning within those guidelines, and provide financial analysis and advice to clients
• Provide best practices within Quatrro to help the client improve their business execution
• Coordinate with other internal Quatrro teams for consultative support on all financial services 
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to cross-functional teams aligned to a particular client delivery process
• Address client concerns and issues to ensure they are resolved promptly and dealt with according to client satisfaction

Qualifications:

Required :   

• 4-year degree in accounting, finance, or business with an accounting/finance focus (or equivalent knowledge/experience)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting and finance
• Minimum 4 years of Controller experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Demonstrated people management experience and success leading a team of direct reports, with a focus on coaching and developing Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers
• Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and functions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Deep understanding of accounting principles and processes
• Experienced in creating processes and efficiencies to create an operational Center of Excellence  
• Strong business acumen, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated success working collaboratively and building relationships with key stakeholders and C-level executives

Preferred :   

• Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or business with an accounting/finance focus
• Experience working with Not-For-Profit organizations
• Experience in a consulting or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment
• Experience working globally, with both domestic and international teams
