Construction Project Accountant Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable – North Miami Beach, Florida

    DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is also considered
  • Process daily coded invoices with Superintendents' and Project Managers' approval, verify Subcontractor Affidavits, and manage timely payments for projects and supplier invoices.
  • Manage financial aspects of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring budget adherence and preparing cost reports and financial statements
  • Monitor project costs against budgets, analyze variances to identify potential overruns, and collaborate with project managers to resolve cost discrepancies promptly and accurately
  • Manage accounts payable functions such as timely vendor payments, invoice matching for officer approval, and ensuring insurance compliance for subcontractor payments.
  • Prepare lien releases, review vendor statements, train assistants, reconcile subcontractor pay applications, and allocate costs to projects
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies, maintain organized project documentation, and assist with construction project audits.
  • Prepare and submit progress billings, approve subcontractor and vendor invoices, and manage project accounts receivable collections.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 300 CRE, Procore Project Management a plus
