Job Description

Job Title: Construction Accounting
Location: Denver, CO
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000

My client is a construction company in Denver who been in business for over twenty years and have an opening for an accountant at their main office. We are looking for someone with experience in construction A/R or general construction accounting. If that sounds like you, lets connect!

Responsibilities:

• Review contracts, billing instructions, and special conditions.
• Process contract compliance documents.
• Create schedule of values for AIA billing.
• Provide bill of sale, insurance certifications, and other required documentation.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues and customer inquiries.
• Follow up on outstanding change orders to ensure they are completed and billed.
• Make collection calls on past due accounts.
• Prepare monthly reports for management to update them on billing activity and collection status.
• Verify and review accuracy of sales tax codes in jobs.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent job experience.
• 4+ years of experience in A/R or general accounting.
• Experience working for a construction company in an accounting setting.
• Experience with creating schedule of values and AIA billing.
• Knowledge of Colorado sales tax, and ability to administer compliance for each municipality.
• Proficiency with excel and ability to learn relevant accounting computer applications.
