Division Description

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) manages the legal affairs of California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) by providing advice on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. The OGC also supports CalHFA’s Asset Management, Financing, Single Family Lending, Multifamily Lending Programs, and corporations the Agency may form to administer various programs.

Position Summary
Under general direction of General Counsel, exercising broad discretion and independence, the Attorney, Assistant Chief Counsel is responsible for all legal matters relating to the operation of CalHFA; plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, supervises and reviews the work of Single Family programs attorneys and support staff, and manage the work related to Asset Management and Multifamily Lending.

Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.
