Our IS&T Educational Technology Platform Administration team is looking for an Assistant Director who will be responsible for leading and managing the team of platform administrators in the support of Learning Management Systems, Assessment Systems, Instructional Video Services, and Grading Support Tools. The ideal candidate is independent, proactive, a self-starter with a strong work ethic, and excels at fostering collaboration.
As part of the Ed Tech team, you will report to the director of IS&T Health, Faculty and Student Ancillary Applications and work with multiple units of BU Information Services & Technology at 930 Commonwealth Ave/remote/hybrid.
Position responsibility:
- Direct a team of Platform Administrators supporting a range of services.
- Plan and coordinate skill and product-based training initiatives for the team.
- Resolve medium to high complexity issues across multiple technical areas and business segments.
- Oversee the service management of the Ed Tech solutions and the promotion of best practices for the services.
- Maintain system platform and product functional knowledge.
- Vendor relationship development and management.
- Partner with key stakeholders to address their needs, set priorities, and communicate initiatives.

Required Skills Education:
- B.A./B.S. required.
- Master's degree in Educational Technology or related field is preferred.
- Relevant experience or certifications (e.g., ITIL) is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Educational Technology experience of 6-8 years in LMS platform administration in Higher Education.
- Technical Skills:
- Integrating Educational Technology solutions with other applications and data sources.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration Integration Pack (SAIP).
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard Learn, Canvas, Moodle).
- Knowledge of Assessment Systems, Grading Support Tools, and Instructional Video Services.
- Knowledge of Accessibility Practices and Laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong leadership, management, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to support multiple projects under strict and potentially conflicting deadlines.
